Weight Paint Mode lets you visually control how much each vertex is influenced by each bone. Blue (no influence) to Red (full influence). Good weight painting is essential for smooth deformation.
Where to Find It
Select a mesh with an armature modifier, then switch to Weight Paint Mode from the mode dropdown.
How to Use
- Select bone: Hold Ctrl and click a bone to select it for weight painting.
- Paint: Use Add (white) to increase influence, Subtract (black) to decrease.
- Blur: Use the Blur tool to smooth transitions between bone influences.
Pro Tips
- Use Auto Normalize in the tool settings to keep total weights at 1.0.
- Smooth transitions between bones prevent mesh pinching at joints.
