The Knife Tool lets you cut through mesh geometry by drawing custom lines. Each click places a cut point, and connected points create new edges that split the mesh.
Where to Find It
In Edit Mode, press K or use Mesh > Knife > Knife Topology.
How to Use
- Start cut: Press K, click on the mesh to place the first cut point.
- Continue: Click to add more cut points. The knife cuts in straight lines between points.
- Snap: Hold Ctrl to snap to the midpoint of edges.
- Angle constrain: Hold C to constrain the cut angle to 45-degree increments.
- Confirm: Press Enter or Space to confirm the cut.
Pro Tips
- Press Z while using the Knife to cut through the back of the mesh too.
- Use the Knife for creating custom topology patterns and repairing mesh flow.
