The Bevel Tool rounds off sharp edges by creating chamfered or rounded transitions. It is essential for adding realism — real-world objects rarely have perfectly sharp edges.
Where to Find It
In Edit Mode, select edges and press Ctrl+B or use Edge > Bevel.
How to Use
- Bevel edges: Select edges, press Ctrl+B, move the mouse to set width.
- Segments: Scroll the mouse wheel after pressing Ctrl+B to add segments (smoother bevel).
- Profile: After beveling, adjust the Shape parameter in the Operator panel (0=concave, 1=convex, 0.5=rounded).
- Vertex bevel: Select a vertex and press Ctrl+Shift+B to bevel corners.
Pro Tips
- Use 2-3 segments for a subtle bevel on hard-surface models.
- Enable 'Clamp Overlap' in the Operator panel to prevent the bevel from creating bad geometry.
