Key Settings
The Type Tool creates text layers in your Premiere Pro sequence for titles, lower thirds, captions, and credits. Text created with the Type Tool can be customized in the Essential Graphics panel with fonts, colors, animation, and responsive design settings.
Where to Find It
Press T or select the Type Tool icon (capital T) from the toolbar. Click directly on the Program Monitor to start typing.
How to Use
- Add text: With the Type Tool active, click on the Program Monitor and start typing.
- Edit text: Select the text layer in the timeline or click on the text in the Program Monitor to edit.
- Customize: Open the Essential Graphics panel (Window > Essential Graphics) to change font, size, color, alignment, and animation.
- Position: Use the Selection Tool to drag text to the desired position.
- Animate: Apply text animation presets from the Essential Graphics panel.
