The Track Select Backward Tool selects all clips to the left of the click point on a specific track. It is the reverse of the standard Track Select Tool, useful for selecting content before the playhead for bulk operations.
Where to Find It
Nested under the Track Select Tool in the toolbar. Click and hold the Track Select icon, then select Track Select Backward Tool. Press Shift+A to cycle through track select variants.
How to Use
- Select backward: Click on a track to select all clips from that point backward to the beginning.
- Multi-track: Hold Shift to select across multiple tracks simultaneously.
- Move: Drag selected clips to reposition them as a group.
- Delete: Press Delete to remove all selected clips and close gaps.
Pro Tips
- Use to quickly trim the beginning of a sequence by selecting and deleting everything before the playhead.
- Combine with the standard Track Select Tool for complete timeline section management.
