The Ripple Edit Tool trims clips while automatically closing any gaps created in the timeline. This maintains a continuous sequence without manual gap removal.
Where to Find It
Press B or select the ripple edit icon in the toolbar, grouped with the Rolling Edit Tool.
How to Use
- Trim: Drag the edge of a clip. The timeline automatically closes the gap.
- Extend: Drag outward to extend a clip, pushing adjacent clips.
Pro Tips
- Use Ripple Edit to remove pauses or unwanted sections quickly.
- Watch the Program Monitor to preview the edit point in real-time.
