The Width Tool creates variable-width strokes by letting you adjust the thickness at any point along a stroked path. This is perfect for creating calligraphic effects, tapered lines, and organic brush strokes.
Where to Find It
Press Shift+W or select the Width Tool from the toolbar.
How to Use
- Adjust width: Hover over a stroked path until the width point appears, then drag outward or inward.
- Add point: Click on the path to add a new width point.
- Move point: Drag a width point along the path to reposition it.
- Remove point: Select and drag a width point off the path.
Pro Tips
- Hold Alt (Option) to adjust one side of the stroke independently.
- Use with calligraphic brushes for natural-looking tapered strokes.
