The Pencil Tool lets you draw freeform paths as if you were drawing with a real pencil on paper. It is ideal for creating natural, hand-drawn looks without placing individual anchor points.
Where to Find It
Press N or select the Pencil icon from the toolbar.
How to Use
- Draw: Click and drag to draw a freeform path. Release to end the path.
- Smooth: Double-click the Pencil Tool icon to adjust smoothness settings.
- Edit: Draw near an existing path to extend or modify it.
- Close: Hold Alt (Option) and release near the starting point to close the path.
Pro Tips
- Use with a graphics tablet for the most natural drawing experience.
- Adjust the Fidelity setting — lower for rough, hand-drawn paths, higher for smooth lines.
