The Pen Tool allows you to create custom vector shapes by placing anchor points and adjusting bezier curves. It is essential for creating icons, illustrations, and custom masks.
Where to Find It
Press P or select the Pen icon from the toolbar.
How to Use
- Straight lines: Click to place anchor points. Each click creates a straight line to the previous point.
- Curves: Click and drag to create curved segments with bezier handles.
- Close path: Click on the first anchor point to close the shape.
- Edit: Switch to the Direct Selection tool to adjust individual anchor points.
Pro Tips
- Use as few anchor points as possible for smoother curves and easier editing.
- Hold Ctrl (Cmd) to temporarily switch to the Direct Selection tool while drawing.
