The Mirror Modifier mirrors geometry along the X, Y, or Z axis. It is essential for modeling symmetrical objects like characters, vehicles, and props.
Where to Find It
Select a mesh, go to the Modifiers panel (wrench icon) and click Add Modifier > Mirror.
How to Use
- Axis: Choose the mirror axis (X, Y, or Z). Enable multiple axes for full symmetry.
- Bisect: Enable to cut the mesh at the mirror line and remove overlapping geometry.
- Clipping: Prevents vertices from crossing the mirror line for seamless modeling.
Pro Tips
- Enable Clipping when modeling to keep vertices on the center line.
- Apply the Mirror Modifier before adding other modifiers for best results.
