Key Settings
Match Frame loads the source clip of any clip in your timeline into the Source Monitor at the exact frame where the playhead is positioned. This lets you quickly find and reuse footage from your project.
Where to Find It
Position the playhead over a clip in the timeline and press F. The source clip opens in the Source Monitor at the matching frame.
How to Use
- Match frame: Place the playhead on the desired frame of a timeline clip and press F.
- View source: The Source Monitor loads the original clip with the playhead at the matching frame.
- Reuse footage: Set new in/out points in the Source Monitor and add more of the source clip to your timeline.
- Reverse match: Press Shift+F to match from the Source Monitor back to the timeline.
Pro Tips
- Use Match Frame to quickly find the original source of a clip — great for locating high-resolution versions.
- After matching, set new in/out points to add B-roll extensions from the same source clip.
