Version History keeps a detailed record of changes made to your Figma file. You can name important versions, browse the history, and restore previous versions if needed.
Where to Find It
Click the dropdown arrow next to the file name at the top center of the editor, or use Ctrl+Alt+H (Cmd+Opt+H).
How to Use
- View: Click the file name and select 'Show version history' to see all saved versions.
- Name: Click on any version to add a descriptive name (e.g., 'Final design v1', 'Client feedback applied').
- Restore: Select a version and click 'Restore' to revert the file to that state.
- Branch: Create a branch from any version for experimenting without affecting the main file.
Pro Tips
- Name versions before major presentations or client reviews for easy rollback.
- Version history is automatic — Figma saves a version every 30 minutes of inactivity.
