UV Seams are edges marked to define where a 3D mesh splits during UV unwrapping. They control how the surface flattens into 2D space, minimizing stretching.
Where to Find It
In Edit Mode, select edges and press Ctrl+E > Mark Seam, or use Edge > Mark Seam.
How to Use
- Mark seams: Select edge loops where the mesh should split, press Ctrl+E > Mark Seam.
- Clear seams: Select seamed edges and press Ctrl+E > Clear Seam.
- Unwrap: Press U and choose Unwrap to see the result in the UV Editor.
Pro Tips
- Place seams in hidden areas like the back of a model or under arms.
- Too many seams cause fragmented UV islands; too few cause stretching.
