Texture Painting lets you paint colors and textures directly onto your 3D model's surface. It is essential for creating custom textures, adding wear and tear, and hand-painting details.
Where to Find It
Switch to the Texture Paint workspace. The model must have an image texture assigned in the Shader Editor.
How to Use
- Paint: Select a brush and click/drag on the model to paint colors.
- Stencil: Use image stencils for projecting photos or patterns onto the model.
- Layers: Paint on different image layers for non-destructive texturing.
- Smear: Use the Smear brush to blend colors directly on the surface.
Pro Tips
- UV unwrap your model first (U key in Edit Mode) before texture painting.
- Use a tablet with pressure sensitivity for more natural brush strokes.
