HDRI Lighting uses 360-degree panoramic HDR images to illuminate your scene with realistic environmental light and reflections. It is the standard technique for automotive, product, and architectural visualization.
Where to Find It
In the World Properties panel (globe icon), open the Surface section and click the Color property's dot to add an Environment Texture.
How to Use
- Load HDRI: Add an Environment Texture node to the World shader and load a .hdr or .exr file.
- Strength: Adjust the Strength value to control the brightness of the environment light.
- Rotate: Use the Rotation Z value to rotate the HDRI for the best lighting angle.
Pro Tips
- Download free HDRIs from Poly Haven — they provide studio-quality environment maps.
- Use a low Strength (0.1-0.5) for moody scenes, higher (1-3) for brightly lit outdoor renders.
