The Cursor Tool positions the 3D cursor — Blender's most important reference point. The 3D cursor determines where new objects are added and where transforms pivot by default.
Where to Find It
Nested under the Transform Tool in the toolbar. Click and hold the Transform icon to access it.
How to Use
- Place cursor: Click anywhere in the 3D viewport to move the 3D cursor.
- Snap cursor: Hold Shift and right-click to snap cursor to a surface.
- Center cursor: Press Shift+C to reset cursor to the world origin.
- Snap selection: Press Shift+S to open the Snap pie menu.
Pro Tips
- Press Shift+S then choose 'Cursor to Selected' to center the cursor on an object.
- New objects (Shift+A) always spawn at the 3D cursor location.
