Key Settings
Prepare:Select:Bake:
Bake Textures renders material properties into image textures. It is used to transfer high-poly detail to low-poly models, combine multiple materials, and optimize for game engines.
Where to Find It
Go to Render Properties > Bake section. Select Bake Mode and adjust settings.
How to Use
- Prepare: UV unwrap the target model and create an image texture in the Shader Editor.
- Select: Choose Bake Mode — Diffuse, Combined, Normal, Displacement, etc.
- Bake: Click the Bake button. The material bakes into the image texture.
Pro Tips
- Bake with 4x samples for quick previews, 256+ samples for final quality.
- Use cage or ray distance settings to fix baking artifacts.
