How to create proxies for large files

Create low-resolution copies of your 4K or higher footage for smoother editing on slower computers.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Step 1: Select clips in the Project panel that you want to create proxies for.
2. Step 2: Right-click > Proxy > Create Proxies.
3. Step 3: Choose a preset (e.g., 720p H.264 Low Resolution) and click OK.
4. Step 4: Media Encoder opens in the background and creates the proxy files.
5. Step 5: Toggle proxies on/off using the Toggle Proxies button in the Program Monitor.
