How to create a freeze frame

Pause your video on a specific frame to highlight a moment or create a still image effect.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Step 1: Position the playhead on the exact frame you want to freeze.
2. Step 2: Right-click the clip and choose Add Frame Hold.
3. Step 3: Alternatively, go to Clip > Video Options > Frame Hold.
4. Step 4: Premiere inserts a freeze frame that extends for the remainder of the clip or until the next edit.
