How to Use the Width Tool

Create variable-width strokes to give your lines a hand-drawn, calligraphic feel.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Draw a line or shape with a stroke applied.
Step 2: Select the Width Tool (Shift+W).
Step 3: Hover over the stroke until you see a plus (+) sign, then click and drag outward to widen that point.
Step 4: Drag inward to pinch the stroke and make it narrower.
Step 5: Double-click a width point to set exact dimensions for the left and right sides.
