How to Use the Pathfinder Panel

Combine, subtract, intersect, and exclude overlapping shapes to create complex vector geometry.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Step 1: Draw two or more overlapping shapes.
2. Step 2: Select all the shapes you want to combine.
3. Step 3: Open the Pathfinder panel (Window > Pathfinder).
4. Step 4: Click one of the Shape Modes: Unite (merge), Minus Front (subtract), Intersect (keep overlap), or Exclude.
5. Step 5: Click 'Expand' if you used a Shape Mode to finalize the paths.
