Key Settings
Add a Sprite2D:Set region:Flip:Modulate:
Sprite2D displays 2D images in your game. It supports texture filtering, region selection for sprite sheets, flipping, modulation (tinting), and material assignment for shader effects.
Where to Find It
Found in the Create New Node dialog under Node2D. Search for "Sprite2D".
How to Use
- Add a Sprite2D: Add the node, then click the Texture property and load an image.
- Set region: Enable Region to display only part of the texture for sprite sheets.
- Flip: Check Flip H or Flip V to mirror the sprite.
- Modulate: Adjust the Modulate property to tint the sprite with a color.
Pro Tips
- Use Centered to control origin position.
- For animated sprites, use AnimatedSprite2D instead.
- Apply a ShaderMaterial for visual effects without modifying the original texture.
