The Text Tool creates text layers for headlines, body copy, labels, and buttons. Figma's text engine supports advanced typography including variable fonts, auto-sizing, and text styles.
Where to Find It
Press T or select the Text icon from the toolbar.
How to Use
- Add text: Click on the canvas to add point text, or click and drag to create a text box with wrapping.
- Format: Use the Text section in the Design panel to change font, size, weight, line height, and letter spacing.
- Auto-size: Set the text resizing behavior to Auto Width, Auto Height, or Fixed in the Design panel.
- Styles: Save text properties as a Text Style for reuse across your design system.
