Cycles is Blender's physically-based path-tracing renderer. It simulates realistic light behavior including global illumination, caustics, and subsurface scattering for photorealistic results.
Where to Find It
In the Render Properties panel (camera icon), select Cycles as the Render Engine.
How to Use
- Select: Choose Cycles from the Render Engine dropdown.
- Samples: Set Max Samples to 128-512 for final renders, lower for previews.
- Device: Switch to GPU Compute in Performance settings for faster rendering.
- Denoise: Enable Denoising in the Render Layers tab for cleaner results.
Pro Tips
- Use the Noise Threshold option to let Cycles automatically stop sampling when the image is clean enough.
- Render with Light Paths set to 4-8 bounces for realistic interiors.
