Key Settings
The 3D Camera Tracker is a powerful tool that analyzes footage to extract camera motion and build a 3D scene. You can then place 3D text, graphics, and objects directly into the footage, and they'll move with the camera perfectly. This is the same technique used in professional VFX and augmented reality.
Where to Find
Apply the 3D Camera Tracker effect from Effect > Perspective > 3D Camera Tracker. Drag it onto the footage layer you want to track.
How to Use
- Analyze: The effect analyzes the footage frame by frame to find tracking points
- Select: Once analysis completes, select tracking points in the Composition Panel
- Create: Right-click selected points to create a Solid, Text, or Null Object at that position
- 3D Scene: The created elements are placed in 3D space matching the footage
- Render: Add lights and shadows to integrate 3D objects realistically
Pro Tips
- Use the "Advanced" section in the effect controls to adjust track point size
- Create a camera first (from the effect) to see the 3D scene properly
